Scarpa Men's Phantom Tech Mountaineering Boots are serious boots for serious mountaineers. They may weigh about 20% lighter than traditional leather cold-weather mountaineering boots, but the Phantom Tech are built like the best of the heavyweights. This boot is a solid choice for just about anything you might be getting up to in the most extreme conditions, from standard mountaineering to technical ice climbing. It’s made with a specially laminated OutDry membrane gaiter that combines K-Tech, S-Tech, and Super Fabric technology, all of which makes them about as robust, tough and waterproof as any cold-weather mountaineering boot out there. The Phantom Tech’s outstanding ice-climbing performance is finished off with a purpose-designed Flexseal zipper® closure to maintain warmth even when temperatures are well below zero. A micro porous EVA midsole adds gentle cushioning to the boot without interfering with the overall feel and dexterity, while a lightweight Vibram Zero Gravity sole provides a durable and light basis that keeps the boot as comfortable as it is technically outstanding.
